TIP #1: NO Word

I beg you, even if you are Microsoft Word’s biggest fan, and regard it to be the app of the century, shun it like the most poisonous vipers on the planet. It is one of THE worst apps to write your book in.

You may not know this, but behind the scenes in the creation code of Word there are hundreds of secret Other-function codes.

Have you ever copied and pasted from Word right into your blog … and seen those little black diamonds with question marks in the centers?

That’s direct evidence of that invisible code. And there is plenty more hidden under the table.

Simple: do. not. use. that. app.

Instead – go here: https://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html
and download the free app called Open Office.

It works for both macs and pcs.

It functions just like Word, but has no nasty invasive secret code that will screw up your text.

You might have already started your manuscript in Word.

If so, just copy and paste it into Open Office and go from there.

(Word to the wise: Never delete original docs – stash them. You never know when you might need them.)
